2017 THE SELF-REALIZATION OF A TREE is an ongoing collaboration between Guillaume Massol and Matt Maurer. The project explores the possibility of a machine to learn what it takes to become a tree. Starting out on a crude level of visual mimicry, we hope to creat an artificial tree that learns enough about its own nature to become substatially symbiotic with its environment.
